MICU Fazari
MICU Fazari

For the Fazari family, the name Micu has a high affective value, it is characterising and historical, because it was Domenico Fazari’s name, born in 1906, breeder and farmer, father of 10 children, who in 1940 founded the olive-growing company that in 1992 would later give rise to the Fazari brothers’ Olearia San Giorgio.

To remember him, the family business, starting with the 2017 oil campaign, has dedicated a top-of-the-range oil in an elegant package. It named it MICU 1906, after the family founder and the year he was born, producing a limited edition of 1906 bottles.

MICU 1906 is a medium-fruity blend of 70 per cent ottobratica olives and 30 per cent cassanese olives.

Soft and vegetal on the palate, with tones of field lettuce, celery and chicory; bitter and spicy present and harmonious with hints of almond in the sweet finish. Good with seafood hors d’oeuvres, boiled beans, tomato salads, baked potatoes, stewed shrimps poultry or roast lamb, fresh pasta filata cheeses.
