Altanum
Altanum

Our extra virgin olive oil ALTANUM takes its name from the very old name of San Giorgio Morgeto, the Reggio Calabria municipality where Olear la San Giorgio and the Fazari brothers’ farms are located.

This town, today a charming medieval village, was with its famous castle and even more anciently a fortress of Calabria.

Our extra virgin Altanum is extracted from five olive varieties: ottobratica, carolea, sinopolese, roggianella and ciciarello. It is an excellent blend with a medium-light fruitiness and a green colour with yellow highlights.

Sensory Profile

Olfactory examination reveals a distinct note of field grasses, white apple and tomato leaf.

The taste is harmonious and complex, revealing a medium note of bitterness and a more pronounced spiciness. The other aromatic notes perceived are of citrus and exotic fruits. Tasty and involving on everything, it expresses its best on raw and blanched stockfish to be offered in salads and on roast and stewed swordfish. It also excellently enhances the taste of ecrostaceous pizzas.
