The Company

Olearia San Giorgio snc was established in 1992 by the Fazari family, now in its third generation, which has continued the agricultural activity begun about eighty years ago by grandfather Domenico (known as Micu). Today, we grandchildren, led by Mimmo Fazari, continue the exciting and demanding work of cultivating olive groves and producing extra virgin olive oil, to which we have added interesting production diversifications in the last decade.

Values and behaviour characterise the three generations of our family: industriousness, seriousness, far-sightedness and social responsibility. This is now recognised by institutional bodies, by collaborators, by colleagues and by the many customers who have been rewarding us with their loyalty for years and consider us a reference point of tradition and innovation. We operate in San Giorgio Morgeto, a charming and industrious medieval village of 3 thousand souls, located about 20 km from Gioia Tauro, on the slopes of the Aspromonte National Park in Reggio Calabria, of which we are part.

What We Do

On the land in the municipality of San Giorgio Morgeto and the neighbouring municipality of Cittanova, which is also part of the Aspromonte National Park, we cultivate about 140 hectares of olive groves, where more than 25 thousand olive trees bear fruit, 5 thousand of which are organically managed. As far as marketing is concerned, for almost twenty years Olearia San Giorgio, through targeted promotion and communication activities, has conquered significant spaces in high quality, national and international catering, in wine shops and specialised shops opened by Eataly in Italy and around the world, gaining significant recognition and awards even outside national borders.

Production process

The care of the plants, the utmost attention in harvesting operations with shakers and other mechanical facilitators, innovative oil extraction techniques in the company’s continuous-cycle mill with 3 production lines, are our specialities; we add to this the organisational care and experience, dedicated to the bottling, storage and shipping stages, as well as the quality of services offered to customers.

Today’s goals

The Fazari family loves the earth, cultivates it and makes it prolific. We believe that in order to help safeguard human health and the environment around us, good eating and ecological habits are a prerequisite. The medical-scientific world and experts constantly urge us in that direction. We, both with our products and with choices aimed at agricultural research, energy saving, and care for the environment, have done, are doing, and will continue to do, our part with cutting-edge choices. For us, high quality production and eco-sustainability are conscious and shared choices, as is social responsibility.
